Steering sloppy

I raised the front of truck and put on jack stands. Then I went to each front tire and tried to move it from right to left. The driver side did not move but when I did the passenger side it moved from right to left as well as some of the steering linkage.

If you did not see motion in the tie rod end then the more common problem in these is the idler arm attached to the frame on the passenger side. They fail a lot. There is a heavier version available these days that helps a lot. It is not hard to replace it, two bolts hold it to the frame and a stud like a ball joint at the linkage end. But you will need to get an alignment done after you replace it as it controls a lot of the steering angles.
It is part 5 in the picture.
The MOOG K6187T is a good replacement, it uses a heavier pivot than stock and holds up longer.
