My vehicle struggles with starting when cold, once started and running after 5 minutes all is fine and I can drive the car as normal and runs very well, no lack of power or hesitation.

No oil leaks, no oil leaks, no loss of coolant, can drive car all day, most forums say intake manifold butterly this has been checked and all is clean, no codes, glow plug relays been checked as well, had vehicle with the AA garage and they had overnight and thoroughly checked vehicle and found no issue. I'm thinking Crank Sensor, or boost pressure solenoid brown black canister with two vacum pipes, MAF sensor changed, , glow plug relay changed, glow plugs tested, fuel injectors checked as well. AA are now saying its firmware/software update. Any help would be appreciated.

Can the EVAP solenoid be connected wrong way round as in input output pipes.
The canister purge solenoid is the component in the EVAP system that is responsible for “purging” the EVAP system, by acting as the switch that allows the vapor into the engine. When the purge solenoid fails, it will cause problems for the EVAP system, which will affect the vehicle’s emissions output levels. Usually, a bad purge solenoid will display a few symptoms that can alert the driver that a potential problem has occurred and needs to be serviced.

Getting white smoke on start with pungent odour, once up and running all emmission smell goes away.

Desperate for help.

This has all the signs of a blown head gasket, it does not take much to create the white smoke so it would be difficult to see the coolant level dropping. Can you please remove the oil cap and look for an oily goo? This guide can help us:

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Just to be clear, you are getting white smoke on cold starts and that is it? You said it struggles with cold starting but at there other issues other then the white smoke?

Can you get a video of this? If you are not loosing any coolant but yet have white smoke then that may just be the moisture from inside the exhaust steaming out. It sounds like a head gasket but it would be getting lower on coolant over time.

Clearly white smoke is water/coolant getting burned out of the engine or through the exhaust one way or the other.

Here is a guide that covers that:

Let us know this info and we can go from there. Thanks
