I'm having an issue with my car and a few people have told me that it's the fuel pump. It acts like it's running out of gas and when I stop at red lights and such it acts like it wants to stall, sometimes it does. When I step on the gas from a stop, sometimes it acts like it's not getting any gas so I have to feather the gas pedal to get it to go. Now it will only start for a few seconds and cut out. I've also read that it could be the fuse or a relay? Please help!

Welcome to the forum, how long since a tune-up? Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage. You can call and ask. You may need to clean the throttle-body and check throttle-body sensors, tps and iac.

Do you have any codes in the computer? If you haven't checked yet that is the first thing I would do most auto parts stores will check for free if you don't live in california. Next time it dies and won't start check for spark let me know if you have any. They sell spark testers pretty cheap at the auto parts store.

So you don't remember the code you had before? If your getting a crankshaft position sensor code then I would suspect you could have a bad sensor. DO you have a multimeter to do some testing?

No I dnt do you think that it could be the system module or the egnition coil that makes the car just shut off like that?

HAs the check engine light come on? Chances are it is the idle air control valve. The throttle position sensor, or a vacuum leak. However, I can't be sure without a code from the computer. Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

Most likely I think its the sensor if you can get a meter we can do some testing instead of expensive guessing. Meters are cheap.

PO135 = Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

It sounds like an O2 sensor (heated). Here are some pictures of where bank 1 for the optional engines.

The 3.1L V6 is different:

Remember, bank 1 is the side of the engine with the number 1 cylender. Also, sensor 1 is before the converter.
Let me know if this helps.

Joe

Have the fuel pressure tested with a mechanical gauge, if above 40psi, then the FP is not the problem.
It could be a bad coil pack or ignition module.

I, too, had a problem similar to yours. I tested my fuel pressures, tried to retrieve any codes, etc, changed fuel filter, disconnected battery for a while. Everything seemed normal. I had a friend who had a fuel injector test kit. I unplugged one of the wire connectors on the injector and plugged the test light in. When my wife cranked the car over it started. We shut it off, hooked up the connector to the injector again, started it up and it's been running great for the last 80k miles. Go figure.
