An engine needs three things to start and run. Compression, fuel, and spark.
This sounds like a fuel pump but here is a guide that will walk through the basics of what all could cause this:

Have you tried spraying some starting fluid in the intake just to see if it will fire up for a short second? If so, this will confirm the pump.
Another way, is to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to test for pressure.

Let me know if you find anything with the pressure. I included the procedure to replace the pump just in case I am correct.
