For your information: I am using a 5-pin relay.

I'll get straight to the point. I wired my auxiliary lights using a relay like you are supposed to.
I always put the "trigger" wire for the relay to the high beams. This is to have my auxiliary lights come on when I turn on the high beams.

The problem is that when I wired it this way on the Mazda, the auxiliary lights stay on when the high beams are off?

In short:

1. Relay wired to high beam headlights.

2. Auxiliary lights wired to relay(everything grounded correctly of course).

3. When I turn on my high beams my Auxiliary lights turn off.

4. When I turn off my high beams the auxiliary lights come on.

Car listed above is a diesel.

Hello,

The trigger wire should be powered when the lights are on correct? It must have power all the time or the relay is stuck. here is a guide to help test it and the headlight wiring diagrams below so you can see how the system works:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Yes, I want the lights to power on when I turn on my high beams, aka I plug the trigger into the high beams and when they switch on, it should provide power for the relay right? The relay is connected to battery positive and negative terminals, as well as auxiliary lights and the trigger wire to the high beams.

Is it possible to find the wire for the high beams that hasn't yet entered the Auto Light control module? I think the ALCM might be the problem as it sends a different type of voltage instead of 12v on and 0v off?

Idid it! I had to do wire it the following:

12V from battery with fuse to relay shoe 30

Ground (sShoe 85) to high beam ground!

Trigger (86) to high beam fuse in engine bay fuse box!

87 (not 87a) to auxiliary lights.

It now works when I turn on the high beams and stay off when high beams are off!
