Where is the speed sensor located?

That's good info. I tried to pull the sensor before I read this. I already tried to remove it and it is stuck part way out. I hope I didn't break something. I will try to wiggle it like you said and see what happens. Respectfully submitted, Joe Biscanti

I soaked it with WD -40. It's still stuck part way out. It doesn't wiggle. It won't go back in either. I put a drift pin on and tapped gently. I will let it soak and reapply WD- 40 again from time to time. I will wait for your reply before I attempt to remove it again. When I got the electrical plug disconnected, I thought I had it made. The bolt came out with no problems. If I can't get it out or in, can I start the car to move it? Respectfully submitted, Joe Biscanti

Joe,

Very gently tap it back in slightly and gently work it back and forth. Eventually, it will begin moving a little more each time until it's out. I was worried it may give you trouble.

Yes, you can start the vehicle and move it.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Joe,

You can move it, but I wouldn't drive it too far. Let me know how things turn out for you.

Take care,

Joe

I appreciate your help. I will take it easy on trying to drive it down. I won't be able to get back at it until maybe tomorrow. I will definitely let you know how things turn out. Respectfully submitted, Joe Biscanti

Hi Joe,

Listen, take a few seconds and spray it again with penetrating fluid. Hopefully, it will help loosen things over Easter.

Take good care of yourself and Happy Easter to you and your family.

I will try it. I have sprayed it with three different kinds of penetrating fluid. I sprayed it with Kimbell Torq CB. The guy at NAPA auto parts said it was good stuff. I also used a whole can of Blaster and some W-D 40. I wish I could get some ZEP-45, that's the best. We used it in Maintenace at Dana Corp. (Parish Div.). If that didn't work, we went to the oxy-acetylene torch. We'll see what happens. Respectfully submitted, Joe Biscanti

Hi,

Let me know how things work out. Also, I believe we are really not too far apart. If Dana Corp (Parish Div) is what I'm thinking, it is in Reading. If that is the case, I have family nearby. LOL

Regardless, take care and Happy Easter,

Joe

Yes, it is (was) in Reading, PA. It isn't there anymore. They closed it and knocked it down years ago. That's some coincidence though. And a Happy Easter to you and yours. If it doesn't rain, I'm going to give it a try later today. Respectfully submitted, Joe Biscanti

Sounds good. Let me know what you find or if I can help. Also, let me know if you ever heard of the small town, Bowmansville. I didn't realize Dana had closed its doors there. Ugh! It is so frustrating. Regardless, I'm near Pittsburgh. Not too far.

Take care,

Joe

No, I haven't heard of Bowmansville near Pitt. We have Bowmansville near us. Well, I tried to get that sensor out. It just doesn't budge. There are so many things on this car that haven't worked for a while. It was a good beater car, never let me sit. To make a short story long I called a tow service, they gave me $300.00 so it went to the great scrapyard in the sky. I haven't opened the bag the new sensor was in so I can send it back to Rock Auto for a refund. We tried, wasn't meant to be. Thanks again for your help and patience. Signing off. Joe,

I'm sorry to hear this. It should have come out. Ugh! And yes, Bowmansville is near Reading, not Pittsburgh. LOL, you are near my family. No one ever heard of the town when I talk to them. It's small, but I really like it there.

Regardless, please feel free to come back anytime in the future if you have questions or if we can help.

Take good care of yourself, and it was a pleasure working with you.

Joe,

You aren't having much luck. LOL

What would likely remove it is called an impact screwdriver. I attached a pic of one below.

It is designed to loosen screws like you are dealing with. How it works is this. You secure the head needed into the screw as best as you can and then you smack the back of the tool with a hammer. When that happens, you have all the inward impact of the hammer hitting it, and the tool is designed to turn a little at the same time to break the screw loose. I've had to use one a thousand times. And yes, they work well.

If you don't have one, check the parts store and see if they have one, they will lend you. Other than that, they are not too expensive online. I've seen them for under ten dollars.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
