I see on this website under questions you have answered, a chart for a 2005 Dodge Caravan for the spark plug wires. I have the van listed above it is a MFI OHV. Would I use the same chart for changing the wires? I already took off the old wires, but did not know that I should have done them one at a time, or that the order mattered. So I am looking for the right order.

Hello,

The engine ignition firing order is

Firing Order 1-2-3-4-5-6

The cylinders are numbered from the front of the engine to the rear. The front cylinder bank is numbered 2, 4, 6. The rear cylinder bank is numbered 1, 3, 5.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

There should be codes I would expect in the pcm to give some insight to this. It may be transmission related, restriction in the converter are the two first things that I think of.

You can 100% sure on the compliancy, there is probably a cummunication error, start with the simple thing and check the fuse for the data link connector.

Doug, I was mistaken, according to the diagram it goes right into the ecm. There is a communication problem by the description, is the connector good?

I was off base on that one.

I wouldn't know how to check, I know I unplugged it and plugged I back in and wiggled it around. Could it be the scanner or just having a fit? You would think it would work, especially since there is a MIL on?

Best I can say it try the scanner on another car, if it works, then contact the scanner manufacturer for insight.
