I replaced the solenoid pack, and when I started the job, I forgot to put the gear shift inside the car in the l1 position. I left it in park. Now the shaft at the sifter cable is in l1, but the gear shifter in the car is in park. How can I fix this without taking the valve body back out?

Hi,

I assume you have a 42RLE transmission because if you have a NAG it tells you to leave the transmission in Park while you remove the electrohydraulic control unit (valve-body).

If so I attached the procedure on how to remove it. As you will see it tells you to remove the shift cable from the lever at the transmission then put in the L position. So when you are installing this you just reverse that which means you just move the manual valve (shift lever from the L position to the Park position manually then reconnect the cable.

Let me know if you need more info or if this doesn't make sense.
