How to replace the turn signal switch?

Sorry I don't have the wireing diagram for a multi functional switch I can't find one myself I have a book but no diagram. My book is haynes.

Yeah, I have looked in Haynes and Chiltons both and neither had a wiring diagram for the multifunction switch. Thanks though. I'm hoping one of the moderators will have something

I replaced the turn signal switch. I then tried to replace the metal pllate and lock ring but was unable to do that. Is there a special tool to compress the spring to replace the metal plate and lock ring.

Yup. It's a threaded tube that screws onto the steering shaft. That tube is threaded on the other end. A nut is tightened to push a metal strap down. The strap pushes on two sides of the plate to allow you to remove and install the locking wire ring. Some auto parts stores borrow or rent tools like this. Most mechanics have this tool too. You might find one who will borrow his to you in exchange for some cookies. (Chocolate chip)!
