Side assist system fault with code C1115F0 and 730117

My side assist system is not working with warning Side Assist System Fault, and on diagnostic it gives below fault codes:
730117 – Control Module 2 for Lane-Change Assist
C1115 F0 (009) – Automatic Calibration Not Possible

I assumed CM2 is the passenger side. The sensor cum module is located in the rear bumper. I have already tried below steps in the effort of fixing it but with no success:
- Disconnected and reconnected the battery after waiting 5 minutes.
- I pulled out the sensor, just to make sure no connection issue or no blockage or no dirt. Reconnected and drove the vehicle a couple of miles.

Any more assistance would be of help. I am hard to believe the sensor has failed at such low miles. But if it is, is it a common problem with Audi's? And if it needs replacing, does it need dealer re-calibration of the sensor?

There are a number of things that could cause this. The module itself, wiring issue, water intrusion in the circuits.

Long story short, just replacing the module may fix your issue however, you will not be able to calibrate it without the attached tools and process.

I did not include the entire procedure because it is lengthy and you will need all the tools attached in order to do it and I have never seen a DIY'er have any of them. Which means you will need a shop to calibrate it.

The DTC's are telling you that the module is trying to self calibrate which it does frequently so that it is always accurate and it is not able to do this for some reason. This is not a common issue with Audi's but unfortunately things do fail and there is no telling when they may fail. If the OEM's built vehicles that never failed, none of us would be able to afford them because the components would make the car too expensive so unfortunately this means cheaper parts break. Not to say the vehicle is cheap but compared to one that was built with the highest possible quality parts that would never break, it is cheaper.

Sorry, I never got time to follow up on this until recently. I noticed on eBay like this one:

There are lot of used sensor/module listings. I'm wondering, since these are pre-calibrated from the original vehicle, if I just buy the used one and plug it into my vehicle, will that work like plug and play? Or Do I need to make the car computer learn to recognize this new(used) sensor/module?

You can try it but it says in the instructions that it needs to be calibrated. Click on the first diagrams above and it will show you how.
