Noises problem
1994 Saturn SL2 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I just got this car from my uncle. There is this high pitch noise coming from the motor. Can you tell me if this is the alternator?

Honestly without being there I cant tell u where its comming from. It could be comming from ur alternator or ur idler pulley the bearing goes bad and makes noise. Or it could be comming from ur water pump or powersteering pump or even ur a/c clutch I have seen those make a lot of noise. Is it pretty loud?Because the alternator on those tend to make a little whinning noise normally. Ur best bet is if its pretty loud then I would get a long screw driver and use that to tell where its comming from just be real careful of the belt and other spinning objects. Let me know what u find.
