Door key(?) stuck in ignition

I bought a used car (1995 Saturn SL2) and was provided with a spare key. I used this in the door, then the ignition, and it worked in both and even started the car; however, now the key is stuck in the ignition. I can't turn the key back past battery access in order to remove it; the radio shows a messasge that says "lock" and my battery is being permanently drained.

Will I need to replace the ignition or is there some way to get this key out?
