Heavy gas fume smell all around the outside of the car and inside. How do you go about diagnosing the problem?

First of all thank so much for your donation. The first thing you will have to do is figure out if the smell is comming from the front or the back of the car. Most likely its come from the back possibley the fuel pump.I have seen the nipples where the fuel lines come off the pump leak. If the smell is that strong then it should be easy to find. Look for gas stains on the fuel tank etc. Let me know what you find.

Fumes are strong all around the car; inside and out.
Have had fuel pipe assembly lines, fuel pump seal and fuel filter replaced by mechanic ($700.00+) and still have the same problem. In fact, fumes inside are worse than before the repairs were done. Can't afford to have them just keep on replacing parts until they stumble across the problem. I am scared of an auto fire etc. Any suggestions of suspect areas would be appreciated.

If someone charged me 700 plus to fix a fuel leak and it wasnt fixed I would be back at the repair shop and make them fix it right. It sounds like you got ripped off you paid to have a fuel leak fixed and it wasn't fixed. You must have a breau of automotive repair or something similar to that in your state you can contact to make the repair shop fix the fuel leak right. Trust me the repair shops are affaird of that breau. The most likely places on vechile for fuel leaking you have already replaced except the fuel pump which cracks and leaks right at the pump where the hoses come off. Also the fuel tank itself you just have to really smell look for gas stains follow those stains and sometimes luck.I don't like finding them myself there a real pain sometimes finding them. Let me know what you find.
