Electrical problem
2000 Rover 25 Two Wheel Drive Manual 55600 miles

Hi there,
I recently bought a Rover 25, 16 valve car, sorry if this message is long but this is excatly what happened:
As I was driving along after work at night, I went to get something out of the glove compartment box and the light that was in there came out of its fitting and touched the metal framework of the glove box fitting, this caused a spark and a bang noise which in turn caused the lights that light up the speedometer, mileage etc to all go off.
So I checked all the fuses (both boxes) which all seemed fine. Then I took the fitting off in front of the steering wheel to see if the light switches have blown, they all seemed fine. When I placed the fitting back and went to turn the engine on, the car does not start and only makes a clicking noise. I am now pulling out what is left of my hair! Can you please help!

The clicking noise is probably caused by a flat battery !! check voltage and charge or replace the battery ... you must have a blown fuse for the instrument panel display/interior light's double check ALL fuses ..

hope this helps
