Car is riding rough, shaking at times. There are times when the car will ride as smooth as silk. And, then other times it feels like it is going to fall apart. I have also noticed when going uphill there seems to be a loss of power, like it will drop ten to fifteen mph on interstate when going uphill. Speedometer will jump around from time to time and check engine light is on but not blinking. I am just trying to diagnose to figure out if it is worth fixing or if it is time to part ways.

With the CEL on I would start by getting the code(s) read. It could be something simple like needing a fuel filter or new plugs/wires. Or something worse. The code(s) would give you a starting point at least. The speedometer jumping could indicate a speed sensor wiring/sensor issue, which could cause these issues, but get the codes first.
