I recently replaced brake pads and calipers about 6 months ago. And now there's something grabbing or the tire not being able to move freely
Note: it's not all the time I have only noticed it within the last week or 2. So if I am pulling on to the road there a sometimes it acts like the tire is slipping and then comes a grinding noise not very loud. I mostly feel in my feet than hearing it. It happened once after pulling into a parking lot hitting really small pot and I immediately stopped in the parking lot I put it in park looked around and didn't see a thing.

Hi,

Have you tried lifting one wheel off the ground at a time to see if one won't turn? Also, if you are feeling it more on the floor, which is usually a good indication that it is coming from the rear, so that is where I would start checking.

Here is what I need you to do. Drive the vehicle and when you park, walk around the truck placing your hand close to each wheel. See if there is excessive heat coming from any of them.

Also, let me know if the sound changes when you apply the brakes.

I will watch for your reply.

Take care,

Joe

I removed the driver side rear tire the rotor is fine. The new calipers and pads look good, no noticeable irregular wear, still smooth.

I also put the truck in neutral and hand spun the rotor didn't feel anything that would make that noise.
And no weird sounds from pressing the pedal.

I got told to rock the wheel back and forth to see if there is no play. There is not.

Side not isn't that trick to see if your front-end ball bearing is out or does it work for the rear too

Sorry. Back to it I will check passenger side tomorrow. Should I remove the rotor ms check the emergency brake?

And no excess heat it seems to only do it when hit bumps going from. Stop to acceleration.

Hi,

It could be a wheel bearing or something similar. Have you checked for excessive play in the bearings, or have you checked the differential fluid to make sure it's full and clean, free of any metal debris?
