Okay. So, all at the same time both power seats went out and only the passenger front and rear windows went out. I checked the breakers underneath. I checked all fuses. Everything is good. I hit the buttons on windows or seats, and I get a click sound but no movement. I'm at a loss. This all happened when hooking up a 5th wheel trailer and the trailer brakes on the truck stopped working and said service 4wd. I hooked it to a different trailer, and it was the same. Everything all at once. Any help would be appreciated. Also, my friend has his own shop and is a certified GM mechanic and has him for a loss.

Hi,

I read through the wiring schematics. I suspect you lost the main power supply from the under-hood fuse box. Everything you mentioned (down to the trailer brake) is powered by a 175 amp alternator fuse.

If you look at the pics below, I highlighted everything. Now, if you haven't already, check to see if there is power at the circuit breakers. I suspect there is none. The click you are hearing is most likely the primary side of a relay closing the circuit, but there is no power to send to the component from the secondary side.

In the pics, I started at the components and worked backward to see what powered them. Check all the main fuses. Also, make sure they have power to and from them. I suspect that when you connected to the trailer.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe

See pics below. Note: The 175 Amp fuse is not in the regular under-hood fuse box. It's in what they call a fuse holder. It is on the passenger side of the fire wall.

Hi,

You are very welcome. Which fuse was it? Did you have to work all the way back to the 175amp Alt fuse? If that is the case, recheck the wiring on the fifth wheel. It takes a lot to cause that fuse to fail, so there is a direct short at some point.

If you can, let me know if that was the one. Also, please feel free to come back anytime in the future if you have questions. You are always welcome here.

Take care,

Joe

It was the 125 fuse on the passenger side battery. Never even knew there were breakers over there. I did a check. Trailer and everything works. Thanks again

Hi,

You are very welcome. I had a feeling it was a fuse, and like you, I feel like they hide them.

Take care, and feel free to come back anytime.
