Initially I was getting PO440 code. Pretty sure it could use a new gas cap. I have had no problems with it starting or running. One evening it was acting like it was misfiring/and or bad gas. Car stalled. Pulled over shut it down waited abit. Restarted the car drove it to my friends shop and left it there for them to look at apparently it never got looked at new code coming up was po445 purge valve Short Circuit it recently started having problems putting gas into it as it will shut down the pump as if the tank is full it's obviously an EVAP issue but my concern is it seems electrical because now when you shut the car off go back to the car like when coming out of a store go to start it it has power no crank I can hear the fuel pump. It recently did this and I had to leave the car sitting where it was at came back two days later car started right up like nothing was wrong drove fine came home drove the car for another week or two without a problem 3 days ago went shopping come out went to start the car Power not cranking over the fuel pump is running I bought the car from my boyfriend that you would think would have helped me out in this situation obviously not I've been doing a lot of reading and researching and watching videos I don't have the money to take it to a shop and I'm not ignorant when it comes to Mechanicals I just want to know where I need to start to do it correctly as electrical makes me nervous I do not have a digital multimeter but I do have a test light and I have no other option other than to do this myself any help would be very much appreciated. Also I was just recently informed that my boyfriend who you might as well say is now an ex has replaced the purge control valve several times he said it was Heavy when you removed it I'm thinking that the charcoal canister is full and allowing it to back up and carbon is pluging up the valve and possibly causing issues with circuits etc

Hello,

I need to ask a question before we get started. Does the security light flash when the engine wont crank over?

Please let us know

Cheers, Ken

I will go check, but I am pretty sure it does not. I I did turn the key on but not try to crank it over to see if it was blinking and it was not then so I am assuming I have to be turning it over and pay attention.

It sounds like you have a starter motor that is going out but to be sure we need to test the small trigger wire of the starter.

Here are some guides to help us see whats going on:

You might need to raise the car.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/jack-up-and-lift-your-car-safely

Here is a guide that shows how to do it toward the bottom of the guide:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-cranks-but-wont-start

If the starter trigger wire is getting power and the engine is not turning over the starter motor is bad and needs replacement.

Here is a guide that will give you an idea on what you are in for when doing the job:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-starter-motor

Here are some diagrams (below) of what it will be like on your car.

Please let us know what you find.

Cheers, Ken
