Transmission problem
1996 Pontiac Sunfire 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 300k miles

how do you take the transmission mount off the tranny, driver side, just behind the drivers side tire. I took the 4 bolts out and got the engine lowered enough to get it off but I got stumped on how to take the mount off. Its like there is a sleeve with a hex bolt or something in the center (10mm). I tried to loosen it but did not budge. Do I need a puller or is there a way to squeeze the sleeve to pull the mount off?

Raising or lowering is not my problem. Its how to get the mount off the sleeve. You have to pull it off towards yourself! But its locked in place, cant swivel or turn it.

If it won't move it may be rusted in place, you may have to cut it off.
