I replaced the original ignition switch, not the housing with the chip but inner guts with tumblers when I try to start the car it trips the security n shuts down after like 5 seconds of running. What is the process I need to go thru to program key and switch to system?

Are you using a different key? Try a Passlock relearn procedure:
Perform security system relearn.
1. Let car sit for more than 10 min. W/ key off.
2. Attempt to start engine; leave key in the run position (monitoring the theft light).
3. After 10 min. The light will change state.
4. Turn key off and wait 10 sec.
5. Attempt to start; if stalls, wait another 10 min. W/ key on.
6. Turn key off for 10 sec.
7. Attempt to start; repeat step 5 - 6 if necessary.
8. The security system will relearn on the 4th starting attempt and the engine should start and run.

If I change the housing that goes with the new switch and key is the process the same or is it a different process because the chip on housing is different?

All I can tell you is if you changed the cylinder, and now use a different key, this is what you do to get it to run. PCM needs the new transponder info put into memory.
