1995 Pontiac Sunfire 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I recently noticed when I parked my car that there was a very strong smell of gas. So I looked under the hood and found that my fuel injector was leaking. Once I found this out I replaced the injector. But now my car doesnt start. So I checked the battery it was fine.I then replaced the starter. It grinded so I found that was because I didnt have a shimmy. Put one on. Now my sunfire only makes a clicking noise but it isnt because the battery. Im running out of ideas as to what it may be.

With the key in the crank position, watch the lites, dash lites--dome lites--headlites, something. If the lites dim or go out, there is load on the starter. If the lites don't react, there is an open circuit. Check the purple wire at the starter solenoid for voltage, key in the crank position. If no voltage, that circuit is wired through the clutch switch. Any testing, make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set.

Usually if the lites go out or almost, check the battery and cables. Also, take the starter off and have it tested. Some of the national brand autostores will test it for you.
