Fuel Gauge stuck @ 3/4

I have a 97 Grand Prix GT. The fuel gauge does not move from the 3/4 position, regardless of the amount of fuel in the tank. The digital RANGE display inthe center of the dash does not change either.

What is causing this, and is it simple enough for me to fix it under the shadetree?

The fuel sending unit or instrument cluster is bad. Being a GM vehicle it's probably part of the fuel pump. In order to change, the fuel tank will need to come out and replace the fuel pump/ sending unit. To make sure, ask the parts store if the unit is available by itself. Also drive the vehicle till you know it's almost empty before removing the tank. Good luck :) Here is how to change the pump out in case you need it. Check out the images (Below).
