Heater problem
2005 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Automatic 70,000 miles

The blower is just fine as well as the A/C but the heater is not getting hot. I have a appionment in a week to take my car to shop in a week but I would like to know the possible reasons so I know I'm not getting screwed. Also do you know what the average cost would be for the repair?

I also have this noise that sounds like it's coming from the dash but I'm not certain. It sounds like water is sloshing around. It's only when I turn I hear the water sloshing from side to side. It sounds like it's flooded. Any thoughts?

Thank you so much for your time,

Brittany

It is generally a bad thermostat, but could be a clogged heater core.

There are two hoses about 3/4" that go into the firewall and they are close together.

With engine hot, quickly touch one hose at a time (carefull HOT), if one is hot and the other is warm, then the heater core is blocked, if both are warm, then thermostat.
