Our Grand Prix's engine will not warm up. It's been cold in Iowa, but the temp gauge will barely move above the lowest mark. I changed the thermostat and it still does the same thing. Ideas?

Does the car have heat? You really need to scan the computer and see what the engine temp is and compare it to the gauge, you might have a faulty sensor.

The car does have heat, but it is not very warm. I put another new thermostat in last night thinking the first one might be faulty. Still does not warm up to normal temp. I'm buying my thermostats from ORielly's. Has anyone had problems with theirs. One friend told me to try an original OEM part.

I have run into problems where the thermostat is supposed to be 195 and it says so right on it but it opens at 170, I have a thermal temp sensor that I used to confirm it.
