No security light, will not start

I just bought the car listed above. It would take me, sometimes, a couple of hours and many many many tries and jiggling of the ignition with the key and turning the steering wheel back and forth just to get it started. Eventually it got to where the ignition wouldn't turn. So I ordered one and replaced it but I needed to program it and everything I was reading mentioned the security light and the dash being on until you turn the key and do different tricks and stuff and when it turns off the car should be good to go. There was no security light, occasionally whenever I would try and turn the key and all the lights turned on in the dash it would turn on but it would immediately turn off along with all the other lights.
But everything I read was talking about it flashing until the ignition was programmed and then it would turn off. I took it to a dealership (I don't have money for them to work on my car) and they said that they could do the programming, which is what I thought I needed done, for $140.00. So I thought okay if that's all I need it will be worth the money because I can't figure it out and I took it up there. Immediately they came back and said that it would be over $500.00 for them to fix it and that the ignition switch was out and a couple of fuses are blown. So I order a switch and another ignition just to be on the safe side. I hooked up the switch and charged the battery. Which the key has to be turned to the on position to install the ignition so all the lights in the dash and everything was working (including the security light!) Even before I put the ignition in because as far as the switch was concerned it was turned on. I went to put the ignition inside the switch and immediately lost all power to the entire vehicle I mean absolutely everything and it was hooked up to jumper cables and another car this entire time.
So I took the ignition back out of the switch and a few days later I checked all the fuses and found one out, changed it in the passenger fuse box on the dash. Charged the battery again disconnected the battery installed the ignition into the switch hook the battery back up turn the key over and there's no security light flashing at me! By the way I'm no mechanic I am a female who watches a lot of YouTube videos on how to do what I need done because I don't know any mechanics. But what I gather is without the security light the ignition can't be programmed and without the ignition being programmed the car will not start.

Couple questions first. When you say there is no security light does that mean it does not even come on when the key is turned? It should come on for about 3 seconds and then go out when you turn the key.

If the light doesn't even come on then that means we have an issue with the system. Do you remember the light coming since you bought it or has it been this way the entire time?

Below is the GM 10 minute process to program the system but we may have larger issues so we need to start with checking for codes even though the check engine light may not be on. I am expecting there to be some codes for the BCM but let's check this to start.

Let us know if this is not what is happening and maybe if you get a video of the issue that will help.

The security light does come on for a second when the key is turned and then it goes off when all the other lights go off which means programming the ignition will not help me if the security light is not on. That's been my problem all along.

If the light comes on during the bulb test then turns off, what does it do if you try to start the engine? If it then turns on and you get a no start then wait the ten minutes and see if it goes out. Turn the key off and wait 10 seconds, now try to start the engine.

What parts of the switch did you replace? Just the lock cylinder or the entire switch and housing? Think you could take a picture of the parts and post it. I think you may have a different issue than security.
