2002 Pontiac Grand Am Why is the car still running hot!!

I have had themostat changed , cooling senors and the car temps starts to rise almost hot, I turn on the air and it cools off when I turn off the air it starts to rise again , I won't let it get too hot 240 is where I turn on the air, I have had 3 repair shops to look at it they change another part and I get it home and the problem starts again. please help

Make sure the cooling fan(s) are working, could also be a failing waterpump, some of these engines used a WP with a plastic impeller, which would get loose on shaft and lose effeciency.

Also check the compression on the cylinders to rule out a headgasket problem.
