Engine Cooling problem
2002 Pontiac Grand Am Automatic

it is running hot it shut off on me and started smoking it has 3400 on motor and the check engine light is blinking i dont know if it is the therostat stuck or if a head is blown

If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned to determine where the problem is coming from. Most parts stores will do it for free.

As far as the overheatong, if it happens at any speed, I would start with the thermostat, unless there is white smoke coming from the exhaust or coolant mixing with the engine oil.
