Hello, I am having some issues with my grand am and very car illiterate, it wont start. It turns over fine, has plenty of power, I have changed the spark plugs and made sure there was nothing burnt out in the fuse box but it still wont start, any suggestions to what it might be?

Cranks but no start condition-do below to determine whether it's fuel or spark issue:

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it.

I had the same problem it sounds like. It would turn over but it would refuse to start. If the security light is on when this is happening it won't let you start your car. There is a pass code to troubleshoot, however it isnt a solution. The security light stops flashing after 10 min so u have to have your key in the ON position during this time. Then once the light stops flashing you turn the key in the OFF possion for 10 secs. Then it should start.I had replaced a few things to solve my problem. Ie spark plugs and battery connections although I have heard it can also be caused by some malfunctioning computer hardware. Hope anything I said could help your frustrating issue :)
