Do the fans work? Turn a/c on the fan should start, turn off a/c idle car till normal temps are reached, does fan come on? If the fan works check the thermostat, it's probably stuck closed, when it overheats, how hot is the upper radiator hose? If only cold to warm tstat is stuck!
