Brakes problem
1997 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cyl Automatic 87000 miles

My brake light came on while i was driving today. it normally means that my parking break is engaged but it was not and it eventually turned off. I then parked in front of my house to take groceries in for maybe five minutes. The brake light came back on and now my breaks are hardly working. Do you have any idea what is going on because they worked fine prior to stopping at my house.

Check brake fluid. Check for abs codes?
