Hello! My 95 Pontiac Grand Am died on the road last night .... Just bought a new battery last week, but it seems like it was the alternator that was bad because my headlights were just dim .... and it seems I was running 100% off the battery.

So, today I replaced the alternator. Removed two holding screws, removed both power cords .... replaced .... used some electrical jelly the Auto folks said to use .... and now that car won't even crank. I turn the key and nothing. We tried to jump it, and still nothing when I turn the key. ...... any ideas?

I'd make sure the battery has a full charge. Take the battery cables/wires loose on both ends, make sure they are clean, dry and tight. If you want to put something on them, do it after they are installed and tight.

If this is an automatic, you might try cranking in neutral. There is a fusible link for the main B+ going to the starter. You can check that with a test lite.
