Computer problem
1989 Pontiac Firebird 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi, I have a 1989 pontiac firebird 2.8 v6 engine. When the weather got cold sunday night I went out and started my car and it cranked up kind of rough. When I got home and turned it off, that morning when I tried to start my car it just turned over and didn't crank. So I got my code reader to see what is on my computer and nothing happened no flashing service engine light and the fan didn't come on like it use to when I checked to see what codes are on the computer. I don't hear my fuel pump anymore. I got another computer still nothing happened. My car just turns over but no start.

Cranks and no start condition:Do below

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

Hi, My dad took a spark plug wire and grounded it to the car and there was a blue spark. What can make the ecm not give a code and the fan is not working.

I also forgot to mention that the injectors was barely making a sound and then it stopped making that tapping sound.

Hi, today I put a hot wire into the fuel pump relay under the hood on the driver side and the fuel pump was pumping. The car acted like it wanted to crank when the hot wire was applied. Could the vats module be bad. Will it cut the fire off from the fuel pump and injectors and the dash lights?
