My Pontiac Aztek 2001 is not allowing the key into the ignition. It seems to be locked. The key will not even slide in at all. I have disconnected the battery. I have tried the hidden ignition switch under the column. I have tried the gear switch in the cup holder. Any other ideas on why this is happening. When a P3 key is not recognized can you still slideit into the ignition?

Thanks
Cliff

make sure the key is not damaged in any way. It seems that the ignition cylinder has dropped a tumbler and is jamming. You need a new cylinder
