1993 Plymouth Voyager 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My van just died in the middle of the road, it lost steering and the brake won't go down at all, it's rock hard, but the gas pedal goes right to the floor no resistance at all, but it doesn't help to pump the gas while you're trying to start the thing.
It chugs, so it wants to start, but for some reason it won't do it. It's not the battery, I got that checked, and I don't want to spend money on parts I don't need. What is it I could need? I had to push it off the road and leave it there.

Welcome to the forum, are the cranking rpms normal? Have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. Spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. You should be able to get some mil trouble codes, if there are any. You cycle the key, just till dash lites come on, no further. On--off, 0n--off, on, then the mil starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes, an example, a code 24 would be two quick flashes, a pause, then 4 quick flashes.
