Hello, the other day I was driving my car everything is fine then I was coming back out from the store I put my key in and tried to turn it on but it wouldnt start the power was on the battery was fine evrything was working it just wasnt trying to turn over or anything it didnt even make any kind of noise, so my father conneted something to the starter so when I touched the battery it woulod start so theres a short some where but im not sure where could you give me any hints on what it could be?

It is your starter solenoid going bad. You can replace just the solenoid, but you still have to remove the starter to do that. You might as well replace the whole starter, which comes with a new solenoid.
