Hi,
I looked online and found several for a 1998 Mustang 3.8L. I attached the links below to take you to them.
Here is what you need to do: Remove the one from your vehicle and identify the part number. You need to make sure the replacement has the exact same number. Additionally, the replacement will need to be reconfigured to work with your vehicle. This will require a scan tool that can communicate with the PATS module and the PCM.

If you look below, I attached the directions for the removal and replacement of the unit. The last pic is what needs to be done for reconfiguration.
