2011 Ford Mustang 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual
We have a 2011 V6 Mustang with the active anti theft system. We were trying to power a radar detector from the map lights in the roof console.
The console also houses the ISM (intrusion sense module). With the connections made, the radar detector draws less than an amp and the lights and detector work fine.
However, since tapping into the unswitched 12v line for the lamp lights, we are getting a security system error message. I'm thinking that either 1) the fuse for the ISM 12v feed was blown due to inadvertantly causing a short in the connector while checking pins for voltage or 2) the security system set an error code because the ISM was disconnected or 3) the ISM module or system itself has a fault. The physical security features work (ie door opening when system armed) but the intrusion detection features don't.
My Questions
1) Will the system set a fault code when the console connector is disconnected (thereby disconnecting the ISM)? Disconnecting the car battery or doing a systems reset check doesnt clear it.
2) what number and where is the fuse for the ISM module?
I've seen a wiring diagram for the overhead console on a 2005 Mustang and it shows thats its 5amp fuse F10. However, thats not the case for the 2011. F10 has another function.
Thanks, John
Updated Thursday Sept 9 - I've found the blown fuse and fixed the problem. As there hasn't been a reply within 24hrs as promised I'll be requesting a refund of my donation.
