P0340, P0365 and P0315 crank, no start

Hi, I have the vehicle listed above I purchased back in February, not knowing it was a first year first generation. I won't make that mistake again, it has been a problem child to say the least and I will do my best to keep this shortish.

About a month ago out of nowhere it left me stranded in a Walmart parking lot having to be towed home. Constant misfires, oil in my spark plug tubes, gas in my oil, as well as a mix of them both in my air intake duct. So doing everything myself and feeling like this vehicle needed some TLC I replaced spark plugs, coil packs, all camshaft sensors and solenoids (VVT), all O2 sensors, valve cover gaskets, manifold gaskets, spark plug tube seals, and thoroughly cleaned out bank 1 and 2, air intake, and throttle body.I'm sure I'm forgetting something but moving on. Got it all back together and no crank. After a new ignition switch it turned out to be a faulty solenoid on the starter I installed only a month and a half ago. After installing replacement starter finally it cranks, Yay. But no start :( OBDII reads codes listed in title and reads 0 RPM's during cranking. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor a few weeks after getting the vehicle and had the relearn done on it but it did not leave in a no start situation at that time. I have been through the wiring for the camshaft sensors but am at a loss.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. To start my pocketbook kept it out of the shop but at this point it has come down to my pride.

Did you check the voltage to the cam and crank sensors?

When ever I see a cam and crank sensor code, I suspect valve timing from the timing chain. I would check the compression on a couple cylinders to see if the chain failed.

The 340 and 365 are the same. I attached the possible issue below for the 2 codes.

I attached the connector view for you as well to test for the reference voltages.

Good morning,

Thank you for your response it was definitely helpful. I ended up having to run new wiring in the harness to the camshaft sensors as well as the crankshaft sensor. After doing so it sounded so close to starting I thought we were almost there but it turned out to be a false hope. I am now showing the following OBDII codes P0315, P0335, P0700, C0301, and U0073 accompanied by extreme fuel dilution in oil, showing at least double max on the dipstick. I am thinking there could be a injector stuck open or even a faulty PCM. My injectors are located under in intake manifold so not easily accessible to test. Any advice or direction of where to start is appreciated.

Something to note, the wiring in the harness that had to be replaced was due to corrosion in the wires halfway to PCM under insulation. The cause was a known issue with these vehicles of a sunroof leak that penetrated the IP Beck fuse box located behind glove box. This was one of the first issues I fixed when getting the vehicle. I repaired the sunroof leak, sealed firewall so even if a leak occurred it would no longer reach the fuse box and replaced the fuse box as a whole but I guess damage was done already despite my efforts.

Okay, yes, I agree that you may have one or more than one injector stuck open.

You will need to check by removing the fuel rail and inspect.

You need to drain the oil now. Get all the fuel filled oil out of there. You do not want to try and start with that. It can cause engine damage.

Thank you for getting back to me so soon. Upon finding the dilution I immediately drained and flushed with a cheaper synthetic oil. After draining it I filled with Royal Purple for the additional film strength and corrosion protection.

Considering the excessive amount fuel it does seem like it would have to be more than one injector. What would cause something like this and shouldn't I be receiving some injection DTC's?

Also not sure if I mentioned it feels as though I'm experiencing constant misfires although I get no codes for that either.

If the injector is stuck open, it will not code. The controls may be commanding it shut but the ECM does not know it is stuck open. That is a mechanical issue. There are no codes for mechanical issues.

That would cause the misfire codes as well.

If you are going to replace 1 injector, I would consider replacing them all.
