started overheating on my way to work?

So, I added coolant and let it set for 8 hours while at work. When I started it again after work it still said overheating and is in the red. There was no gradual build up to overheating it just went straight to red and will not come back down.

Hi,

It sounds like the cylinder head temperature sensor (CHT) has shorted or failed internally. If it is jumping straight to overheating, we know that can't be accurate.

I attached directions below for replacing the CHT. You can try to simply replace it and check the wiring and connectors along the way, or you can scan the can-bus to see if there is a short causing the issue.
