So, I came across a problem that the water pump was leaking. So, my husband changed the water pump, thermostat, timing belt, and we did a motor flush and used Blue Devil head sealer just in case. One week worked fine, never overheated, not even before the water pump issue. Never marked on the gauge overheating, but today one week after working fine my car gauge went more than halfway up and fast. So, I pulled over letting the engine cool down. I added water and I heard a gurgling sound and water from the radiator drain plug was leaking. I bought the cap I haven't put it on yet. Should I buy a radiator or what can you recommend me? I know it's an old car but I'm trying to save my car a little longer.

Hello,

So, was the engine low on coolant?

If you have a leak and the coolant gets low, it will overheat.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/engine-overheating-or-running-hot

You said the radiator is leaking, right? Where is it leaking from? Or was the coolant coming out of the radiator cap?

If the coolant was coming out of the cap, then replacing the cap should take care of the issue. As it is possible that the old cap just malfunctions and is not able to hold pressure.

The radiator drain plug is at the bottom of the radiator. Is what is leaking or is it the cap?

Please clarify this for me and we will see what should be done.
Thank you.

I did my best to take the pictures but maybe you can get an idea where the leak is coming from. If you can see the white stuff splashed on the water tank, I do not know what that is.

So, did you put a new cap on the overflow tank?
The white residue is likely just coolant.

If you run with no thermostat the engine will not get warm enough to have the heater work properly.

Okay, so I did a radiator flush and I put a new cap on. I'm on the drive test right now hopefully no overheating, but I did tighten the draincock. It was a little loose and the upper radiator hose was kind of loose. So, I tightened them and will see right now. I will keep you posted.

Let me know how it goes with the 300.

As for the Acura I would be happy to assist.
But since this is a different vehicle please open a new thread.

Just go to this link and open the new question:

Thank you.

So, my car started to do this it wasn't overheating, it was half ways the normal I popped the hood and this was the best I could get. So please try to watch it and hope fully you can tell me I'm thinking maybe the upper radiator hose and the radiator itself.

From the video it does appear to be leaking from the upper radiator hose.
So, the first step would be to remove the hose and inspect that end. It could have a split or hole on the end there.
Keep in mind to only work on it when the engine is cool.

Yes, from the video it appears either from the base of the hose or just below. Small hole that coolant comes out.
Let me know how it goes or if you have any questions.
