Engine Overheating?

Here is a picture of the hose. Could there be a blockage somewhere?

Is it the hose on the left or right? Also, the radiator looks low.

What to do is fill the cooling system and leave the radiator cap off. Start the engine. Allow it to warm up. When the engine temp gets to 195 degrees, the thermostat will be fully open and you should see the coolant circulating. Try that and see if that happens.

Let me know what you find.

Drained the radiator fluid (as it was looking dark) and flushed it out. Checked the thermostat and it was good to go so I put it all back together and filled it back up. Did what you suggested and it works fine now. Took it for a test drive and it did not over heat! Thanks for the info!

2002 dakota v6 is overheating and I have no heat blowing. When it first started the truck would get hot I would turn the heat on and the temp would drop to safe the the heat would stop blowing and the temp would rise. The heat would blow when I down shifted, cool down then heat up when idling or cruising. Now I have no heat blowing and the truck just overheats.I have changed the t-stat and waterpump.I have also reverse flushe the heater core and radiator. Coolant level is good and drivebelt tension is good. All my hoses are good top hose runs hot bottom hose not so much. Any suggestions?

Maybe there's air in the system try bleeding it-don't work, get it block and pressure tested.

Recheck the thermostat and heater core for clogging if okay -bleed the system

BLEEDING COOLING SYSTEM:

Always bleed air from cooling system after replacing coolant. Set heater for maximum heat. Remove radiator cap. Loosen drain plug and remove drain bolt (if equipped) from engine block. Drain coolant reservoir. Fill coolant reservoir to MAX mark with 50/50 water-coolant mixture. Loosen bleed bolt and fill radiator up to base of filler neck. Close bleed bolt when coolant flows out without bubbles. Tighten bleed bolt. With radiator cap removed, start and operate engine to normal operating temperature. Add coolant if necessary and check for leaks.

Im kinda new at the whole working on my own car. Where would I find the bleed bolt for the cooling system? Is this the same thing as the drain plug?
