2002 Opel Corsa Engine management light

Hi, I hope you can help me. My car is pretty old but hopefully you can. When I drive my vehicle, the yellow engine management light comes on and when I come to a stop street or traffic light my car dies and some times does not start on the first turn. Before you say check the idle control valve, I have, I replaced it as one GM said it needs to be replaced, glad I did it myself, saved myself over R1500. Please help me.

Have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic computer to locate the cause of the light coming on. This will tell us where on the vehicle the fault lies. Then we can assist further. Repost with the full fault code !

Well thats the thing, GM wont tell me what the fault code is and they told me it was my idle control valve. I replaced it yesterday and still getting the same problem.
