I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada (SmarTrak) with 129K miles on it. Yesterday it started without any problems. This morning I tried to start it and it only made a clicking noise when I turned the key. I have been parking the vehicle in neutral, employing the emergency brake, and leaving the key in the ignition for the past week or so now because I have such a tough time getting from "park" to "drive" (another problem, but not an emergency), so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. If anybody can tell me where to start to look for the problem/answer, that would be great! I'm stuck!

Sounds like 2 different problems. Possible linkage binding for the shifter on the latter problem and the former sounds like an electrical problem. Are the light strong when you turn them on? (battery), the clicking may be the solenoid at the starter clciking but the starter not turning over (starter). Also make sure the connections are good, clean and tight at battery, starter and ground. You can try rapping on the starter to see if it jousles the contacts enough to allow a crank.
