200 000 k on the car. Starts fine but if the car has been running for over 30 min and you turn it off and start it again it sputters and stalls. If you let the engine cool for about 20 min it starts. It's been very hot here and we thought that it may be a vapour lock but that doesn't seem to be it.

Electronics hate heat and if they are borderline they will show it. Get the specs for the CTS and test it with a DVOM. You are much better checking for proper volts ranges than buying parts one by one till you get it right.

I'm out of my depth answering instead of asking questions, but I had a similar problem with a 95 Beretta, and it turned out it needed a new MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor. It would run fine the first start, but after turning it off then back on while still hot, it would lose power and stall. After sitting for a while and cooling down, it would be fine again.
Don't take my word on that, just a suggestion.
