I have an 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera with 115000 miles. It has a 3300 V6. My question is when I try to start it in the morning, the engine either has a rough time starting (battery is good). When I do get it started, the exhaust smells rich of fuel. Do you think the engine is not getting enough spark to fire? When the engine is warm, there is NO trouble.
Thanks.

Try testing the coolant temperature sensor/idle air control valve and the throttle position sensor-

And last check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure tester designed for your fuel system.

I have run into problems with the ignition coils causing this symptom. How I determine if this is the problem I take a ohm meter across the coil towers and check resistance. The coils should read relatively the same, if one is out of whack from the others then this is your problem.
