1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass my automatic window wont go up

I have the 6 cyl model - but same problem with the power windows, first on the drivers side, then also on the passenger side front, both stopped working after about 13 years since date of new car purchase. Gails Electric in Costa Mesa, CA (Experts at Electric repairs for cars)did some other work on my car previoiusly an at that time asked if my windows were still "working", told me that this "power windows thing" is common problem on the 93-95 Cutlass's. The wire harness that leads from the engine power train to the windows through the door panel gets cracked with old age -- and you need to have it replaced - I managed to get jiggle my window switch back and forth a few times, and got them both up - and they have stayed up since then, as I can't afford to get them fixed - probably about a $4-500 job.
