The car won't start sometimes, sometimes it will. If you jump it it runs temporarily but will die if you come to a stop sign and try to take off again. Battery is fine, had it charged and tested. Parts place said that the car wasn't putting out enough voltage to drive the car. So we took out the alternator and had it tested. But it's O.K. Too. Now where do we look?

When you tested the alt, was it out of the car and cool?

The first time we tested it while it was in the car and running. The guy at the parts store said that it was pushing enough voltage or ohms or something like that, I don't know I wasnt there, my son was. But the second time we took it out of the car and had it tested and it was fine.

If it is producing, then it should charge in the car too. If you have an alt gauge, does it drop below 12 volts?

I'm not sure if it has an alt gauge but I remember the guy saying that it was going below the necessary voltage to push the car.
