Hello, are there any codes? Your obd1, you should be able to check yourself.
If your data link connector looks like the above, use a jumper between the A & B terminals. Turn the key till the dash lites come on, no further. The mil starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes.
You could also do some basic tests, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs and injector pulse.
