1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Wont start, cranks 1 out of 5 tries

I just recently added new pulleys belts new valve covers new edelbrock carb, mallory daul point distributer, msd 6420 ignition, blater 2 coil, msd 8.5 mm wires, accel shorty spark plugs, new electronic fuel pump, electric fan, battery and starter. The car ran befor i just wanted to dress it up. After i finished intalling it all i went to go start it i got a crank it rolled over but didnt start. i went to go double check everything; timing, top dead ect, went to go start it and and nothing just a load thud, not the noise you here when the battery is low but 1 thud then a little whining noise. over and over the same thing then randomly out of no were the motor will crank and roll over then come to a sudden stop. and nothing after that just the thud and whining noise. PLEASE PLEASE PLEAESE HELP IM SO FRUSTRATED

If the starter is working and then stops, have you checked to make sure the starter is good? You mentioned a whine. Without hearing it, the bendix sounds bad and then the starter spins but not engaged with the flywheel. As far as when it does work, have you checked to make sure there is spark to the engine? Are the carbs getting fuel? If you remove a plug, is it wet? Also, how many PSI is the fuel pump rated for?
