I have a 1998 Bravada that will not start all the time. If it starts in the morning it will be good the rest of the day. Some days it will not start at first, but if you leave it sit for awhile (sometimes as little as one minute) it will start and be fine. We recently had a new fuel pump put on. My son has checked it and put guages on it. Can't figure out what is wrong. Has anyone else had this problem?

The fuel pressure was 50 dropping slightly when trying to start.
After my son checked everything he could think of the check engine light went off (which has been on for about 50,000 miles) went off and the car has started every time this week without fail. I don't understand.

That's your problem. This engine will not run on 50PSI. It requires a MINIMUM of 55PSI. You need to find out why and make sure your getting spark too because not having a reference signal will shut the pump down.
